The library organizes training sessions for building students' information literacy skills. Sessions are open to students, lecturers and PhDs of the New Bulgarian University in a preferred time every weekday.

- Bulgarian articles in subscribed databases
Participants will learn how to find bulgarian articles in:
- Central and Eastern European Library (CEEOL),
- Leisure and Tourism.
- E-books and e-journals by university program
Participants will learn the specifics of subscribed databases by university program.
- E-books and e-journals for mobile devices
Participants will learn how to use the subscribed electronic resources on tablets, smartphones and e-readers when off-campus.
- Federated search of library collections
Participants will learn how to:
- simultaneously search within multiple searchable resources through EBSCO Discovery Service,
- use a variety of e-books and e-magazines on their topic.
- Full-text materials in The Library Catalogue
Participants will learn how to find:
- books from "Google Books",
- materials from the library digital collections,
- theses and dissertations.
- Informational resources to write a thesis
Participants will learn how to:
- find materials on their topic in the library,
- use theses,
- search in collections of e-books and e-magazines,
- receive bibliographic reference list of literature in a field they are interested in ("Bibliographic Reference" Service),
- use materials from other libraries through "Delivery of items" Service,
- format a bibliography of works according to preferred bibliographic standard.
- My Library Card
Participants will learn more about the library membership card, through which:
- they can use the library, as well as the two computer centers,
- borrow library items for home through Self-check workstation or Service Loan Desk,
- use "My record" menu in The Library Catalogue,
- access variety of electronic books and magazines outside the university campus network,
- get 15.00 lv. membership card credit for free each term to pay for library services.

- Bibliographic reference
- Bibliographical formatting
- Delivery of items
- Journal e-mail alerting service
- Ask a librarian
- The ABC of searching information
Participants will learn how to use the library and what is most important for first year students to know, such as:
- using the catalogue,
- functions of the library membership card,
- the wide variety of electronic resources and services that library offers.
